Lou Primak

Principal/COO

Louis Primak (Lou), Chief Operating Officer and Principal of Agate Construction, has over 37 years in the construction industry and has held a variety of leadership and management positions. Through his unique skills, Primak has achieved remarkable success in various roles, driving results in safety management, programming, design, field operations, preconstruction services, estimating, scheduling, procurement, project management and the LEED Certification process. His contributions have been instrumental in enhancing communication with customers and leading construction professionals in executing Agate Construction’s building programs and projects.

Primak began his career working on “At Risk” projects in 1986 as a project manager and estimator in Phoenix, Arizona. After successfully overseeing several projects, he quickly began using his expertise to serve as Vice President, Regional Director, Operations Manager, Project Manager and more on hundreds of projects in the next three decades. During this time, Primak made significant contributions to diverse building sectors, including federal, gaming, hospitality, education/institutional, mining infrastructure, healthcare, and automotive retail. His project portfolio includes notable projects such as the Lakehouse Condominiums in Denver, the University of Nevada, Reno Math & Sciences Building and America West Arena in Phoenix.

With over 30 million square feet of notable projects and billions of dollars in successfully managed construction projects, Primak has consistently received accolades for his excellence in project management. He was recognized as a “Top 40 Under 40” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and received the “Excellence in Project Management” award from the Nevada AGC on multiple occasions.

Primak holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Arizona State University. Additionally, he has completed various programs and certifications, including the Design Build Institute of America Certification (DBIA), OSHA 30 Certification and MSHA Safety Certification, showcasing his commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

In addition to his professional achievements, Primak has been actively involved in industry organizations and boards, serving as President of the Nevada Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and holding positions on the AGC Board of Directors. He has also contributed to economic development initiatives as a Board member of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada.

Primak’s extensive career and outstanding achievements have established him as a prominent figure in the construction industry. His visionary leadership, extensive experience and dedication to excellence continue to drive the success of Agate Construction and its position in the industry.
